Job Description
Provide a short description of the Position:
This position supports the mission critical NY.gov authentication system which provides access to all New York State government web applications.
Provide a list of the day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Installing and Deploying J2EE applications on Production/NonProduction WebSphere cluster environments.
Troubleshooting user issues on Staging/QA environments and communicate directly with the users to resolve application related issues.
Designing and implementing J2EE design patterns using Rational Software Architect (RSA). Implementing design patterns like Session Fa ade Front Controller Data accessing object business delegate Value object patterns and so on.
Identifies and recommends development methodologies and frameworks for the projects.
Developing Java code for reusable and distributed components for J2EE applications.
Designing and developing UI Screens using AJAX HTML CSS and JavaScript.
Developing code to meet NY State accessibility standards.
Reviews the project requirements and risks/benefits involved and provide estimates to the Project Manager and to the users for the work to be completed.
Monitoring service requests/incidents that were assigned to our team using Service Management (ITSM) tool and resolve them based on severity.
Developing and maintaining Web Services solutions (REST/SOAP).

84 months of experience developing Java web applications in WebSphere version 8 (or later)
2.
84 months of experience developing with IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) version 8 (or later) or ITM Rational System Architect (RSA) version 8 or later
3.
84 months of experience developing and maintaining Java web applications using LDAP
4.
84 months of experience creating accessible websites that are 508 and/or WCAG 2.0 compliant
5.
48 months of experience integrating Okta security into Java web applications
6.
84 months of experience developing and maintaining Java web applications using web services
7.
84 months of experience developing and maintaining Java web applications using JSF
8.
84 months of experience developing and maintaining Java web applications using JSP
9.
84 months of experience developing and maintaining Java web applications using Javascript
10.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering or related discipline
