Job Description

Are you a Dedicated and Compassionate Director Of Nursing

Responsibilities:

To manage all facets of the service to ensure a high standard of resident care always.

To provide support advice and guidance to the Home by way of an oncall arrangement.

Plan and manage on call rota with Deputy Home Manager(s) and CNM s.

To lead by example and be a role model to focus staff on resident care by fostering a personcentred approach underpinning the values and philosophy we hold in the nursing home.

Be involved in the recruitment selection induction management and supervision of all new staff.

To manage and support all heads of department including nursing household maintenance and catering staff.

Educate and support staff to ensure compliance with policies and procedures on a 24hour basis. This will include some night monitoring visits.

Liaise with and communicate with MDT practitioners ensuring a personcentred service to the residents in our care.



Requirements

  • A registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • A post registration management qualification in health or a related field.
  • Not less than 3 years experience of nursing older persons within the previous 6 years.
  • Not less than 3 years experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area
  • The ability to communicate effectively with residents family members team members management and external bodies e.g. HIQA HSE GPs etc.
  • Post registration qualification in dementia care and gerontology highly desirable.
