- Actively participates in unit and/or hospital performance improvement activities.
- Delivers patient care and department service in a safe competent and efficient manner as determined by outcomes quality monitors and other internal and external processes.
- Maintains positive interpersonal relationships and selfconduct to contribute positively to the delivery of quality care and services as well as the orderly operation of the department and facility.
- Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety quality of care or the services delivered.
- Follows elished guidelines for compliance with Infection Prevention and TJC Patient Safety Goals and Practices.
- Ensures staff is educated on elished guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes in patient care resulting in patient harm.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and reports trends in occurrences to staff quarterly using this information to improve patient safety.
- Addresses patient safety in the Performance Improvement Plan/Patient Safety Plan.
- Maintains and enhances ss through consultation with interdisciplinary team members participation in planning activities and attendance at inservice and continuing education programs. Completes mandatory education including but not limited to infection control patient safety quality improvement MSDS and OSHA standards (PPE First Aid Blood borne Pathogens Hazard Communications Emergency Procedures and Job Safety).
Requirements
- 2 years of acute care ER leadership experience Required *Would like to see candidates with progressive leadership experience
Education & Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Multi state Compact License. Recent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting (preferred 1 year, will consider 6 months).
