English Tutor In-person Houston TX All Grade Levels

Job Summary:

Job Responsibilities:

Provide inperson English tutoring to students from elementary through college level in which you will create and customize lesson plans to meet each students specific learning needs and academic goals for the following:

Elementary Level: Focus on foundational reading ss grammar sentence structure and early writing development

Middle & High School Levels: Help students with essay writing literature ysis grammar vocabulary building and test preparation (STAAR SAT ACT)

College Level: ist with advanced writing ss research papers essay editing literary ysis and collegelevel English course work

Prepare students for exams ignments and standardized tests

Track student progress and regularly communicate with parents or guardians (for K12 students)

Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages growth

Align sessions with academic curricula and educational standards

• MUST BE eligible to work in the United States of America and have a valid Social Security Number; (Note: We do not sponsor visas at this time).
  

• MUST BE Committed to tutoring for the duration of the ignment with a possibility of extension.
  

• MUST Be able to p a background check.
  

• Great interpersonal ss with the ability to adapt and relate to students from diverse backgrounds.
  

• MUST HAVE your own computer and be technologically savvy (email texting Slack Google Sheets/Excel).
  

• MUST HAVE a selfless commitment to making a difference in students lives (we work with migrant students and you must have compion for all students regardless).
  

• Must be willing to travel to various areas around Houston Texas and meet possibly in a public area (library coffee shop daycare etc.) to tutor in person.
  

Qualifications and Ss:

• Strong communication and interpersonal ss with the ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  

• Strong organizational and time management ss.
  

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  

• Be eligible to work in the United States of America and have the doentation to prove it.
  

• Have your own computer and be technologically savvy (email texting Slack Google Sheets/Excel).
  

• Reliable transportation for travel to various inperson tutoring locations within Houston.
  

• Proven experience tutoring or teaching English across various academic levels.
  

Requirements

SS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:

• A college student with at least 60 hours of credit hours
  

• A college graduate (Bachelor s Master s Doctoral degree holder)
  

• A certified teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification
  

• A retired teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification
  

• Sed in English (All grade levels are welcome to apply)
