Job Description: RN Long Term Care
Position Overview
The RN Long Term Care position is pivotal in providing comprehensive nursing care to individuals in a longterm care setting. This role involves essing patients' needs developing care plans administering medications and ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered to residents.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough essments of resident health and wellness to develop personalized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report any concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
- Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding health management and care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and updated medical records and doentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and coordinated care for all residents.
- Participate in community events and health promotion activities aimed at enhancing resident quality of life.
- Supervise and support nursing istants and other staff in their duties.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations to create a safe environment for residents.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal ss to interact effectively with residents families and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Critical thinking ss and the ability to respond to emergency situations effectively.
Desired Experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a longterm care or sed nursing facility is preferred.
- Experience in geriatric nursing and understanding of the specific needs of elderly residents.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and nursing doentation processes.
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
