Job Description

Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer/ociate (Restoration)

Location: Toronto Ontario
Job Type: Fulltime with flexible schedule
Salary: Competitive base salary plus bonus benefits RPP plan and 3 4 weeks vacation plus personal time off days

About our Client:

Our client is a leader in building science and structural restoration specializing in the repair preservation and restoration of aging structures. Our team is pionate about breathing new life into buildings while maintaining their structural integrity and historic significance. We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with expertise in restoration projects to join our dynamic team.

As a Senior Structural Engineer (Restoration) you will lead complex restoration and rehabilitation projects for buildings services. You will collaborate with architects contractors and other relevant disciplines to design solutions that restore and extend the life of existing structures while adhering to modern safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering and project management of structural repairs reinforcements and restorations for aging buildings such as balconies roofing parking garages etc.
  • Conduct structural essments inspections and evaluations to determine the condition of buildings and recommend repair or restoration strategies.
  • Develop detailed restoration plans construction drawings and specifications in compliance with local codes regulations and preservation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including architects and contractors.
  • Ensure projects meet safety quality and sustainability standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously including budgeting scheduling and client communication.
  • Stay current with industry trends building codes and restoration technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • P.Eng. designation with the PEO is a requirement for this role.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering with at least 5 years focused on restoration and rehabilitation projects.
  • Expertise in structural ysis design and evaluation of existing structures.
  • Strong knowledge of historic preservation standards and local building codes.
  • Proficiency with structural design software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit ETABS or similar).
  • Excellent communication ss and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong project management ss and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
