Job Description:
This Specialist Consulting Engineering firm is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction industry with a specific focus on structures and buildings. This role requires a professional who is technically proficient able to manage projects independently and possesses a strong understanding of the civil engineering aspects of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage civil engineering projects focusing on structural and building construction.
- Oversee project planning design and implementation to ensure all civil engineering requirements are met.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant regulatory standards and codes including SANS and OHS.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs calculations and project documentation.
- Coordinate with architects contractors and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers providing technical guidance and support.
- Manage budgets resources and project timelines to meet client expectations.
- Perform onsite inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored engineering solutions.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards throughout the construction process.
Requirements:
- Professional Qualification: Must be professionally qualified in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Registration: Must be registered with a relevant professional body such as ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) or SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering within the construction industry specifically in structures and buildings.
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques materials and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit and other relevant engineering software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
