Job Description

JOB TITLE: Airworthiness Inspector (A&P)

LOCATION: Savannah GA

PAY RATE: $36.04 per hour

***MUST BE US PERSONS***

Summary:

  • The Airworthiness Inspector ensures that aircraft and components comply with quality standards confirming their airworthiness and proper documentation before returning them to service.

  • Conduct Quality Control inspections on aircraft and components in the Repair Station.

  • Inspect repairs and alterations for conformity to FAAapproved data.

  • Coordinate mechanical electrical and inspection requirements during maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.

  • Collaborate with RTS to produce timely aircraft records.

  • Audit maintenance documentation for accuracy before approval for return to service.

  • Mentor technicians on proper documentation practices.

Additional Functions:

  • Communicate with management to identify work assignments and delivery schedules.

  • Monitor compliance with FAR Part 145 and the FAAaccepted Repair Station and Quality Control Manual.

  • Complete FAArequired conformity inspections and prepare certification data for FAA approval.

  • Support aircraft certification and final phase testing including flight tests as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 4 years of experience on large/midsize aircraft.

  • Proficient in Federal Aviation Regulations FAA forms and documents.

  • Skilled in blueprint reading shop mathematics and QC procedures.

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and proficient in computer skills.

  • Must be able to work all shifts climb ladders work in confined spaces and lift up to 40 lbs.
