Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise and manage nursing staff in the Labor & Delivery unit ensuring that all patient care is provided according to hospital policies procedures and standards.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork professional growth and patientcentered care.
- Provide guidance coaching and feedback to nursing staff and conduct performance evaluations.
Patient Care Management:
- Ensure the delivery of highquality compassionate care to all patients in the Labor & Delivery unit.
- Monitor patient care to ensure compliance with established policies procedures and standards of care.
- Address patient care issues and concerns promptly providing resolutions that prioritize patient safety and satisfaction.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit including staffing scheduling and resource allocation.
- Manage departmental budgets and expenses ensuring costeffective use of resources.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and optimize resources utilization.
Quality Improvement & Compliance:
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory accreditation and hospital standards.Participate in risk management activities and develop strategies to
- minimize risks to patients and staff.
Education & Staff Development:
- Identify educational needs of staff and coordinate ongoing training and development programs.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities for the nursing team.
- Keep current with developments in nursing and obstetric care integrating evidencebased practices into the unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 35 years of clinical nursing experience in Labor & Delivery.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a hospital setting is preferred
- Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and highstress environment.
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
