Job Description

Leadership & Supervision:
  • Supervise and manage nursing staff in the Labor & Delivery unit ensuring that all patient care is provided according to hospital policies procedures and standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork professional growth and patientcentered care.
  • Provide guidance coaching and feedback to nursing staff and conduct performance evaluations.

Patient Care Management:
  • Ensure the delivery of highquality compassionate care to all patients in the Labor & Delivery unit.
  • Monitor patient care to ensure compliance with established policies procedures and standards of care.
  • Address patient care issues and concerns promptly providing resolutions that prioritize patient safety and satisfaction.

Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit including staffing scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Manage departmental budgets and expenses ensuring costeffective use of resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and optimize resources utilization.

Quality Improvement & Compliance:
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory accreditation and hospital standards.Participate in risk management activities and develop strategies to
  • minimize risks to patients and staff.

Education & Staff Development:
  • Identify educational needs of staff and coordinate ongoing training and development programs.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities for the nursing team.
  • Keep current with developments in nursing and obstetric care integrating evidencebased practices into the unit.


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 35 years of clinical nursing experience in Labor & Delivery.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in a hospital setting is preferred
  • Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and highstress environment.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
