Job Description

Job Title: Production Engineer

Position Overview:

The Production Engineer is responsible for maintaining production sustainability ensuring quality adherence driving product improvements and owning key process development initiatives. This role involves coordinating with various departments such as Production Materials Management and Engineering to ensure safe efficient and timely product delivery while actively participating in plant improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills experience with chemical processing equipment and the ability to lead projects with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities:

1) Production Sustainment

  • Develop production schedules incorporating sales forecasts and scheduled maintenance.
  • Modify and issue batch recipes based on available technical documentation.
  • Review process data and issue batch release documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate plant activities with Production Materials Management and operators.
  • Use PDCA (PlanDoCheckAct) visual management and continuous improvements to monitor and adjust production requirements and resources ensuring ontime shipment.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices collaborating with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to enhance the teams safety culture. Monitor adherence to safety procedures and cleanliness expectations.

2) Quality Adherence

  • Initiate and contribute to plantwide quality improvement programs.
  • Escalate safety risks or concerns to engineering or production management.
  • Implement and monitor continuous quality improvement activities focused on waste reduction cost efficiency and tool or equipment performance.

3) Product Improvement

  • Analyze product and process data to identify root causes and develop key performance metrics.
  • Troubleshoot nonstandard process conditions or batch nonconformances.
  • Develop and implement short and longterm containment action plans.
  • Participate in customer inquiries related to product quality issues and communicate with customers as needed.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including R&D Operations and Business to ensure that processes and products meet performance targets.

4) Process Ownership

  • Manage process documentation changes and oversee change management.
  • Develop new production procedures and training programs review solution effectiveness and capture learnings.
  • Participate in design reviews and technology transfer activities.
  • Identify process limitations and develop engineered solutions for future technical challenges.
  • Lead plant improvement projects with minimal guidance.
Skills & Experience Requirements:
  • 4 years of experience with chemical processing equipment including pumps vessels and filters.
  • Advanced skills in chemical process troubleshooting trending and data review.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (JMP SAS Minitab etc.).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) systems and leading trend analysis reviews.
  • Demonstrated experience in regulated or changecontrolled industries.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of process safety structured problemsolving and maintenance tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP and document control systems.
  • Exposure to LEAN principles and a teamoriented work structure.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills adaptability and a customerfocused approach.
Education Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in Chemical Mechanical or Materials Engineering or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM).
