Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and create original designs for clothing and accessories.
- Research fashion and textile trends to inspire and inform design concepts.
- Collaborate with team members to execute design concepts and bring them to fruition.
- Create technical sketches and specifications for designs.
- Select suitable fabrics embellishments and colors for each design.
- Develop patterns and prototypes for garments and textiles.
- Stay updated on emerging design techniques and tools.
- Attend and actively participate in design meetings and presentations.
- Ensure that designs adhere to quality and brand standards.
- Communicate effectively with manufacturers and suppliers to oversee the production process.
- Adapt designs based on feedback and market demands.
- Contribute to creating a cohesive brand identity through innovative designs.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining design archives and libraries.
- Contribute to trend forecasting and market analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Fashion Design Textile Design or related field.
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing original design work and projects.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and textile techniques.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of color theory and its application in design.
- Understanding of industry trends and consumer preferences.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Understanding of sustainability and ethical practices in fashion and textiles.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new design technologies and processes.
