Our client is seeking a dynamic CEO to lead their organisation in executing the Regulators duties as prescribed by the Act. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering comprehensive reports on the Regulator s effective operations to the board.
- Issuing safety permits in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Preparing and submitting the annual report on Regulator activities for board approval.
- Collaborating with the board and the Minister to publish and distribute an annual action plan detailing the Regulators activities.
Key Performance Areas
1. Execute mandate of the organisation s Act
- Ensure functions of the Regulator in terms of the Act are performed
- Report to the board on proper functioning of the Regulator
- Issue safety permits in accordance with the Act
- Complete a report on the activities of the Regulator for each financial year
- Submit annual report to the board for approval
- Publish and distribute a plan of action for the activities of the Regulator for each financial year

6. Financial and Risk Management
Direct and ensure delivery of Financial Management Services by:
Foster a culture of sustainable ethical practices
Champion new tools and programs to strengthen organisational culture
Provide strategic leadership to business units
Review monthly financials and monitor budget implementation
Sign off the annual Fianacial Plan on large capital expenditures and investment
Review monthly financials
Monitor the implementation of the company budget within the spending approval authority
Ensure compliance with PFMA and Treasury Regulations
Requirements
Qualifications required: Masters Qualification (NQF9) in Engineering or Management related field
Experience required: 10 years rail experience 10 years in Strategic Leadership/Executive management role exposure to working with Boards and knowledge of corporate governance
Training required: Indepth knowledge of financial management and the PFMA policy development and analysis strategic planning design and facilitation.
Knowledge required: Resultsbased strategic planning strategic planning methods and tools performance monitoring and evaluation revenue generation systems strategic decisionmaking transport sector policies safety management analytical and problem solving skills strategy development and
