What you will be doing:
- Create and foster a safety culture that is both preventative and proactive.
- Ensure that our Rockford/Lancaster facilities comply with all applicable environmental health and safety regulations.
- Provide fulltime Environmental Health and Safety support to operations.
- Coordinate regulatory programs and permitting applications.
- Support the development and coordination of training programs aligned with our philosophy.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees operations managers and supervisors.
- Participate in manufacturing meetings to discuss workplace safety hazard elimination and regulatory concerns.
- Provide all OSHA compliance training create distribute and monitor all toolbox training.
- Develop safety procedures processes and programs for all departments at both locations.
- Maintain all EHS training records.
- Develop and establish a regular audit schedule for environmental and safety issues.
- Work with our environmental provider TRC.
- Distribute reports and filings prepared by TRC to the proper governmental agencies when due.
- Maintain EPA records of hazardous waste air emission permitting and water pollution discharge.
- Manage the maintenance and implementation of safety standards compliance plans and initiatives.
- Participate in the investigation of near misses accidents and property damage incidents.
- Ensure followup and corrective actions are completed to minimize future exposure.
- Maintain proper records and documents for all incidents and accidents.
- Lead the Safety team and work closely with the ERGO team.
- Serve as the primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections permitting and reporting.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety or related field in a manufacturing environment.
- Membership in organizations such as NASP NESHTA ASSE or BCSP is a plus.
