Job Description
What you will be doing:
Create and foster a safety culture that is both preventative and proactive.
Ensure that our Rockford/Lancaster facilities comply with all applicable environmental health and safety regulations.
Provide fulltime Environmental Health and Safety support to operations.
Coordinate regulatory programs and permitting applications.
Support the development and coordination of training programs aligned with our philosophy.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees operations managers and supervisors.
Participate in manufacturing meetings to discuss workplace safety hazard elimination and regulatory concerns.
Provide all OSHA compliance training create distribute and monitor all toolbox training.
Develop safety procedures processes and programs for all departments at both locations.
Maintain all EHS training records.
Develop and establish a regular audit schedule for environmental and safety issues.
Work with our environmental provider TRC.
Distribute reports and filings prepared by TRC to the proper governmental agencies when due.
Maintain EPA records of hazardous waste air emission permitting and water pollution discharge.
Manage the maintenance and implementation of safety standards compliance plans and initiatives.
Participate in the investigation of near misses accidents and property damage incidents.
Ensure followup and corrective actions are completed to minimize future exposure.
Maintain proper records and documents for all incidents and accidents.
Lead the Safety team and work closely with the ERGO team.
Serve as the primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections permitting and reporting.
Experience you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline.
At least 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety or related field in a manufacturing environment.
Membership in organizations such as NASP NESHTA ASSE or BCSP is a plus.
