Job Description

Job Title: Senior Scientist
Location: Bethesda MD 20814

Position Summary:
The Senior Scientist will support and lead research efforts at the NIH MRI Research Facility (NMRF) focusing on the development of novel radio frequency (RF) coils hardware and stateoftheart imaging tools for brain studies. The role requires strong technical expertise in MRI operations equipment management and collaborative research with an emphasis on mentoring junior staff and presenting scientific findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop novel RF coils and hardware for MRI brain imaging.
  • Lead research experiments analyze data and contribute to scientific publications.
  • Collaborate with NIH staff and external researchers on MRIbased studies.
  • Provide technical guidance in experiment design data acquisition and troubleshooting.
  • Mentor junior scientists and staff.
  • Present findings at national scientific meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Physics Biophysics or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in MRI operations and RF hardware development.
  • Ability to independently lead research projects and collaborate on interdisciplinary teams.
