Overview
Key responsibilities
- Conducting physical examinations and patient assessments
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses
- Prescribing medication or therapy as needed
- Managing and coordinating care for patients with multiple health issues
- Providing health counseling and education to patients
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Referring patients to specialists when necessary
- Documenting patient care and progress
- Promoting preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of a residency program in internal or family medicine
- Board certification in internal or family medicine
- State medical license and DEA registration
- Proven clinical experience in primary care setting
- Strong understanding of evidencebased medicine and best practices
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decisionmaking skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and compassion towards patients
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Compliance with ethical and legal standards in healthcare
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
