Overview

Key responsibilities

• Conducting physical examinations and patient assessments
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses
• Prescribing medication or therapy as needed
• Managing and coordinating care for patients with multiple health issues
• Providing health counseling and education to patients
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
• Referring patients to specialists when necessary
• Documenting patient care and progress
• Promoting preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of a residency program in internal or family medicine
• Board certification in internal or family medicine
• State medical license and DEA registration
• Proven clinical experience in primary care setting
• Strong understanding of evidencebased medicine and best practices
• Excellent diagnostic and clinical decisionmaking skills
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy and compassion towards patients
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Compliance with ethical and legal standards in healthcare
