Job Description

Overview

An Aerospace Assembler plays a crucial role in the aerospace industry by assembling installing and repairing aircraft components. They ensure that all parts are properly aligned and fit according to specifications contributing to the safe and efficient operation of aircraft. This role requires precision attention to detail and the ability to work with various mechanical tools and equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and work instructions.
  • Assemble and fit aircraft parts and structures using hand tools power tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Inspect and test assembled components to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Repair or replace faulty components and parts using hand and power tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality control teams to resolve assembly issues and discrepancies.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Document assembly processes issues and resolutions for future reference.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to facilitate efficient assembly processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly processes and productivity.
  • Operate computerized systems and software for assembly and inventory tracking purposes.

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in aerospace or mechanical assembly roles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use various hand and power tools effectively.
  • Knowledge of aircraft assembly techniques materials and safety practices.
  • Detailoriented mindset with excellent handeye coordination and precision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
  • Good physical condition and stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy components.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving assembly issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Certification in aerospace technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Adherence to strict safety protocols and regulations in the aerospace industry.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
  • Proficiency in using computerized systems and software for assembly and documentation purposes.
