Job Description
Job Title: Windows Administrator (DBAcumDeveloper)
Location: Cypress Houston onsite
Experience Level: 10 Years
Job Type: C2C
We are looking for an experienced Windows Administrator with over 10 years of handson experience as a DBAcumDeveloper. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in PL/SQL Unix Shell Scripting and extensive knowledge of database administration data warehousing ETL processes and performance tuning at both the database and operating system levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer and manage databases (version 8.x 9.x 10.x or newer) with a strong focus on PL/SQL and Shell Scripting.
- Oversee Data Warehousing operations and ETL processes.
- Perform Database Backup and Recovery using RMAN along with usermanaged backup and recovery processes.
- Conduct Database Refreshes and Database Migrations ensuring seamless data change management and integrity.
- Finetune database and operating systems for optimal performance.
- Administer operating systems including Solaris Unix Linux and Windows focusing on installation upgrades and system performance.
- Implement and maintain database security including the creation and management of users roles and privileges.
- Conduct Capacity Planning and manage system growth ensuring scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues collaborating closely with development teams for effective problem resolution.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and DB support metrics providing highquality remote DBS support.
- Document procedures and maintain standards for database and system administration.
- Proficiency in reporting tools such as Discoverer Focus and Crystal Reports.
- Capability to design and present remote database support proposals including interfacing with onsite teams and executing remote support models.
- DBA Certification (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with onsite teams both locally and remotely.
