Overview:

Join a public organization in Utrecht as a Project Manager for Social Real Estate contributing to the development and management of vital public spaces. Youll work within the Real Estate Organization (VGU) which is dedicated to meeting the citys housing needs for schools sports facilities and welfare buildings. The VGU is divided into three departments:

  • Real Estate Assignments: Official clients and advisors.
  • Real Estate Projects: Program and project managers.
  • Real Estate Management: Technical and asset managers.

As part of the Real Estate Projects department you will contribute to essential social housing projects within the Sport Care & Welfare and Education & Multifunctional Accommodations teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage an integrated project team through the entire lifecycle of complex projects from initiation to aftercare.
  • Coordinate diverse disciplines: construction technical ICT and facilities to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage projects effectively through budgeting planning risk management and quality control.
  • Report to the Program Manager using the ProjectBased Creation (PMC) method ensuring the project meets its objectives.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities requiring strong communication skills and decisiveness.
  • Engage with stakeholders both internally (e.g. city departments) and externally (e.g. school boards architects contractors and political stakeholders).


Requirements

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Education: HBO (higher professional education) level of thinking and working with a background in construction engineering or similar fields.
  • Experience: At least 3 years (preferably more) managing complex social housing projects with budgets ranging from 5 10 million especially within the utility sector.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant laws contract formation environmental permits and procurement processes.
  • Financial acumen: Strong financial insight to manage project budgets and costs.

Preferred:

  • Proven experience in managing projects in large organizations (1000 employees) in both public and private sectors.
  • Experience incorporating sustainability initiatives into housing projects.
  • Practical experience in initiating and executing social real estate sports care & welfare or educational housing projects.
  • Knowledge of the ProjectBased Creation (PMC) method.
