Retail Manager Flagship Supermarket job Cork
My client is a highly successful supermarket group that is a much loved respected and promoting food retailer that employs over 600 people in their business and is still growing. They are now hiring a Supermarket Assistant Manager for their flagship store located on the outskirts of Cork City.
This a major supermarket of significant size with roughly 120 colleagues working in the store and a turnover into the millions.
The store is run by a highly accomplished and proven retailer and the shop is in the top 20 stores in the country soon to climb in status after a major revamp due soon.
We are looking to speak to a proven and able retailer who loves a challenge ideally someone proven in a big box retail store environment who would relish the challenge and opportunity to work in a high profile supermarket store with large teams and a superior fresh food offering.
Our client is neg to discuss salary for the right experience 42 hour contract pension.
Responsibilities for this Assistant Manager Job:
- Work closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales and profit targets.
- Working and motivating your teams to deliver high levels of customer service and shop standards
- Ensure you and your teams abide by all company policies and procedures carrying out department audits and attending regular meetings on any company changes and look at ways to enhance performances through training and tactical merchandising initiatives.
- Manage stock and cash control procedures investigate and report when variances occur.
- Being creative and innovative by studying and implementing advertising sales promotion and merchandising displays
- Working with your teams to have effective control of the stores controllable costs to keep operations profitable and lean
- Maintaining store staff by recruiting selecting and training new staff in conjunction with the HR department.
- Set operational goals and objectives for the shop and have regular management meetings analyzing sales and departmental performances using retail technology.
- Act as an ambassador to the store have a presence around the floor among customers be proactive and professional in resolving customer queries and complaints.
Requirements for this Retail Assistant Manager Job:
- 5 years of retail management experience ideally within an environment with a fresh food offering.
- Experience using Retail IT systems to understand stock and sales trends
- Vast experience in people management demonstrating strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead and motivate a teams under them
- The ability to work in highpressure situations juggle multiple store objectives and thrive under pressure
- Excellent organizational and time management skills getting the best use of financial resources provided
- Selfmotivated and enthusiastic with a high level of confidence.
- Professional Retail background must demonstrate excellent problem solving abilities calm and resolve in crises and a good manner in communicating tasks to staff
