Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in the healthcare services industry in search of a highly talented Lead Tax Analyst.
Job Summary:
The Lead Tax Analyst will be responsible for all aspects of the tax compliance function and tax accounting function including the performance of tax research and planning. This role requires keeping abreast of changes in tax law and identifying tax issues and opportunities. This is a hybrid role 3 days in office 2 days remote.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage tax filings provisions and forecasts for the company and its subsidiaries
- Ensure timely completion and remittance of tax filings in accordance with internal and external deadlines
- Perform tax research and planning functions
- Manage federal and state/local examinations
- Provide direction and guidance to other Tax Staff
- Stay informed of changes in tax law and communicate impacts to relevant parties
Qualifications:
I. Education:
- Required: Bachelors degree in accounting
- Preferred: Masters degree in business administration or taxation
II. Experience:
- Required: 7 years in tax accounting compliance and planning
- Required: Experience in leading projects of varying size and complexity
- Preferred: Experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm
- Preferred: Statutory accounting experience and knowledge of insurance taxation
III. License(s)/Certification(s):
- Preferred: Licensed attorney OR CPA
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
- Familiarity with federal state and local taxes for various entity types
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong relationship building and problemsolving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strategic thinking and proactive approach to creating trust with business units
