Job Description
Position Name: Travel Registered Nurse Psychiatric
Location: Lexington KY 40509
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Fulltime Travel Contract Temporary
Contract Length:13 weeksAccepting Local and Travel Candidates
Pay Rate: Range $1900 to $2052 weekly
Unit: Inpatient mental health or behavioral health unit/s
Shift: 12 Hours; Days 7a 7.30p Nights 7p 7.30a
Schedule: 36 hours / week guaranteed 3 shifts per week Every other weekend
Position Requirements:
- Registered Nurse: 2 years Required
- Recent/Current Inpatient Psychiatric Nursing or Behavioral health experience: 1 year Required
- Recent/Current experience and ability to work with Adolescents Young Adults and Adult patients populations: 1 year Required
- Must be willing to float between Child Adolescent and Adult units Required
- Must be comfortable to work every other weekend Required
Education License and Certification Requirements:
- ASN or an equivalent Required
- BSN or an equivalent Highly preferred
- RN License for State of KY or Compact RN License Required
- HWC (Handle with Care) Certification Preferred
- BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross Required
Job Description:
- Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients physical and behavioral health needs.
- Accurately and timely completes the following duties: new patient admissions assessment orders treatment plan property inventory nutritional screening progress note patient education safe and efficient medication administration.
- Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors utilizing deescalation techniques to diffuse the situation correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
- Uses appropriate counseling skills by deescalating aggression using active listening skills using appropriate tone and volume of voice providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements maintaining appropriate boundaries and promoting a positive peer culture.
