Requirements

1. Educational Background

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is often required for entrylevel positions.
  • Hospitality or Tourism Management Degree for managerial roles or higherlevel positions.

2. Skills

  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring cleanliness comfort and high standards in all guest interactions.
  • ProblemSolving Skills: Ability to handle complaints and resolve guest issues promptly and effectively.
  • Multitasking and Organizational Skills: Ability to handle various duties simultaneously.

3. Experience

  • Previous Experience in Hospitality is often required for more senior positions while entrylevel roles may only require a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
  • Customerfacing Roles: Prior experience in customer service even outside of hospitality can be a plus.

4. Physical Stamina

  • Many roles especially housekeeping bell service or food and beverage require long hours on your feet and physical endurance.

5. Appearance and Grooming

  • Most hotels have grooming standards that service staff must adhere to as they are the face of the hotel. This often includes a neat and professional appearance.

6. Flexibility

  • Work Hours: Hotel staff are usually expected to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to different guest needs or unexpected situations.

7. Teamwork

  • A strong ability to collaborate with colleagues from different departments (housekeeping kitchen maintenance etc.) and work in a fastpaced environment.
