The Glass Jar is seeking an Operations Manager who is equipped to oversee direct and take responsibility for all business operations for The Glass Jar. Our organization currently operates six Penny Ice Creamery locations and our cafe The Picnic Basket.
The Glass Jar Operations Manager actively leads defines manages and coordinates sales and operations and both oversees and facilitates all activities for The Penny Ice Creamery and The Picnic Basket. The Operations Manager oversees catering operations in all areas of business (i.e. Santa Cruz County and Santa Clara County). This position ensures the highest quality of customer service and products upholding and modeling our standards of excellence. The Glass Jar Operations Manager meets the requirements of this position through agreed upon and defined goals and objectives with Glass Jar Owners and ensures proper through The Glass Jar Management Team. The Operations Manager ensures profitability by maintaining a firstclass customer experience while balancing variable and operational costs. They work closely with Glass Jar Owners Area Manager Shop Managers Kitchen Manager employees of both The Penny Ice Creamery & The Picnic Basket and the events team to ensure a quality guest experience from greeting to goodbye.
The Glass Jar Operations Manager maintains a regular presence at all Glass Jar locations to ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives and upkeep of brand standards. They bring their passion for guiding coaching and mentoring each day to inspire our teams and continuously generate peak performance across the board. They reinforce and contribute to our culture of excellence growth and accountability.
This position is the key driving force of creating and maintaining stability at The Glass Jar. The ideal candidate must be an innate leader and a systems thinker; they confidently understand the interconnectedness of a multiunit business operation and are able to upkeep and grow our intricate system.
This individual is capable of effectively influencing and enacting change through the Glass Jar Management Team and operates with a high level of business acumen from proposing theoretical strategic initiatives to the ability of forecasting business needs across all departments. They have a wide flex of range and can shift gears from highlevel projects and responsibilities into the daytoday operations of food production and service. They are highly organized and able to keep tabs on multiple projects tasks or issues simultaneously from start to finish.
Ability to work 40 hours a week consistently.
Ability to work mornings afternoons evenings weekends and holidays.
Reliable transportation.
Skills in creative and rational problem solving prioritizing analysis and critical thinking.
Effective leadership skills that align with our work culture.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrated proficiency with inhouse technology platforms online tools etc.
Demonstrated success and desire to work in and lead multiple fast paced handson environments.
An aptitude for logistics coordination forecasting and project management.
Established business acumen.
Management experience in a food service establishment.
Management experience of a multiunit business operation.
Experience in an Upper Management position overseeing middle management.
Ability to give and receive feedback professionally; other competencies include emotional intelligence active listening compassion reflection teamwork and adaptability.
