The Role:
We are seeking Specialist/Consultant Paediatricians - Remuneration Package Range: $373,783.50 - $504,407.50 to join a dedicated team in a rural setting.

The medicine is complex, including good old fashioned hands-on care of arguably the sickest children in Australia. HDU/PICU/NICU skills would therefore be considered highly desirable.

• The department consist of 6 consultants with a strong commitment to teaching, with 6 Registrar positions, the majority of which are filled by Advanced Trainees. Services include a 30-bed dedicated paediatric ward, an 8-bed neonatal unit with ventilation and Nitric Oxide facilities and access to ICU beds as required. Ambulatory care, with outpatient and outreach care are core components of our service.

The generous remuneration package for this position includes the following:

• Professional Training Allowance** $21,603 - $27,967
• Second Roster Allowance **$41,433
• Private Practice Allowance - Option B** $103,538 $145,005
• Hospital Salary packaging $9, 010
• 6 weeks recreation leave.

The Hospital:
The Hospital is a 189 bed Hospital it is the only acute secondary care service for 1500km in any direction and more than 60% of admissions are Aboriginal people often from remote communities.

The hospital provides the following services: Day Procedure, Emergency, Intensive Care and High Dependency, Maternity, Medical, Outpatients, Paediatric, Special Care Nursery, Surgical and Mental Health, plus arrange of clinical support services.
It is also accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards and has links to many external research organisations.

The Location:
An intriguing place that host's a jam-packed calendar of festivals, celebrations, and quirky events throughout the year. Hike, climb and cycle your way through the chasms, craters and sacred Aboriginal sites of the MacDonnell Ranges, or four-wheel drive the expansive Simpson Desert in the southeast.

It is multicultural with well-established schools and amenities. Bicycle-friendly - rarely taking more than 10 minutes to get anywhere. Out of town are places to camp under the stars, swim through gorges, explore rocky mountain ranges and hit world-class mountain bike trails.

Skills & Qualifications required:

1. Must have general and/or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Appropriate specialist qualifications (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent).
3. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and to assume administrative responsibilities.
4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
