Job Description:
Principal Mechanical Engineer
Engineer sought to provide and collaborate on HVAC Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for building projects. Duties and Responsibilities:
Able to provide calculations design narratives drawings specifications and cost estimates for HVAC Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for building projects.
Reading and creating drawings in AutoCAD or Revit BIM. BIM Experience is a Plus.
Providing construction administration (Submittal review RFI inspections and punch list) for projects designed by the engineer.
Travel to project sites (throughout NY and PA) for owner meetings field investigations and construction administration.
Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer the ideal candidate will be able to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Our current Mechanical staff currently includes a Mechanical Design Engineer. This engineer would
be assigned to you to support your project efforts. You will be required to work with and train this engineer.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program
5 years in Building specific engineering or consulting engineering with PE License in NY and ability to get multistate.
Proven experience utilizing AutoCAD and Revit BIM in a design production environment
Experience designing air handling hydronic and steam systems required
Experience in Healthcare Higher Education and Government/Municipal markets preferred.
Ability to travel regionally (approx. up to 300 miles) representing the firm at all stages of a projects
development including overnight stays typically constituting 10% of the average workload.
