Job description
We are a world leading supplier of spaceborne RF and microwave components and subsystems for the commercial and defense satellite markets located in beautiful Ventura County California with an industry reputation for quality products and innovative technology that exceeds our customer expectations.
We develop and provides cutting edge RF Electronic and Passive Components for satellite communication payloads as well as aircraft and defense programs. All hardware is designed qualified manufactured tested and shipped from our facilities in California. We are looking for a motivated handson passionate individual to join our team and develop new space hardware for communication satellites.
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be creating hardware for use in space applications (geosynchronous orbit low earth orbit and deep space) as well as aircraft and defense programs. Must be a selfstarter & team player who can take ownership of a project from design to deployment under a rapid pace.
Responsibilities:
Ownership of the complete product lifecycle of space hardware from initial design concept to production & unit delivery.
Perform mechanical analyses (vibration thermal radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and onorbit environments
Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field
3 years of industry experience with mechanical or electromechanical design analysis and/or manufacturing
Experience with CAD and FEA software packages preferably SOLIDWORKS
Solid knowledge of GD&T
Selfmotivated with strong interpersonal skills
5 years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics/microwave packaging for space applications preferred
Knowledge of high mix low volume manufacturing methods i.e. CNC manufacturing preferred
Previous ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and production preferred
Rapid prototyping & design iteration preferred
