Overview
The parttime Ophthalmologist for the OPD evening slot plays a vital role in providing specialized eye care services to patients during the evening hours. This position is crucial in ensuring that patients receive quality ophthalmic care and timely treatment contributing to their overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive eye examinations and clinical diagnosis of eye conditions
- Performing surgical and nonsurgical procedures to treat eye diseases and injuries
- Interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging results to determine the appropriate treatment plan
- Providing consultations to patients regarding their eye health and treatment options
- Prescribing medications and eyeglasses as needed for patient care
- Monitoring and managing postoperative care for surgical patients
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation of patient consultations and treatments
- Participating in continuous education and staying updated with the latest advancements in ophthalmology
- Ensuring compliance with medical standards protocols and safety regulations
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and expectations
- Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to quality improvement initiatives
- Providing guidance and mentoring to medical staff and trainees
- Participating in community outreach programs and educational activities on eye care
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification in Ophthalmology
- Licensure to practice as an Ophthalmologist in the relevant state
- Completion of Ophthalmology residency program
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions and diseases
- Proficiency in surgical procedures related to ophthalmology
- Strong clinical judgment and decisionmaking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
