Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee and manage the entire supply chain cycle from the procurement of materials to the distribution of products.
- Inventory Control: Maintain optimal stock levels minimizing shortages or excess inventory.
- Warehouse Operations: Supervise warehousing activities including storage order fulfillment and shipment preparation.
- Transportation Management: Coordinate transport of goods ensuring ontime delivery and cost efficiency.
- Vendor and Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers negotiate contracts and evaluate vendor performance.
- Team Leadership: Supervise logistics staff including warehouse workers drivers and other personnel.
- Budget Management: Control logistics budgets including transportation warehousing and labor costs.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal safety and environmental regulations including hazardous material handling if applicable.
- Technology Utilization: Implement and manage logistics software (e.g. ERP WMS) to streamline processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and cost reductions.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor s degree in logistics supply chain management or a related field is commonly required. Some roles may require additional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Six Sigma.
- Experience: Typically 35 years of experience in logistics transportation or supply chain management.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and trends for decisionmaking and process improvements.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to work with vendors suppliers and internal teams.
- ProblemSolving: Quick problemsolving abilities to manage unexpected delays shortages or operational issues.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with logistics software (e.g. SAP Oracle TMS WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in all logistics and inventory management tasks.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements related to logistics transportation and environmental laws.
