Site Manager
Role Summary
Under general supervision responsibilities include planning scheduling directing application engineering procurement field installation startup and close out of assigned projects. Ensures projects are effectively executed within budgeted cost time schedules and ensure positive cash flow. In addition you will be a key point of contact with the customer and responsible for maximising customer satisfaction safety and quality assurance on all assigned projects.
Job Responsibilities
Manages on site
Oversees and coordinates many aspects for projects from award through to completion including:
Overall site management of projects for successful and timely completion within budget as required by the contract
Preparing project installation plans managing the plans and preparing and implemented job procedures
Representing the business in client and site meetings and taking / owning actions
Translates a variety of customer needs / requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans to meet customer requirements
Reviews and approves estimated costs prior to bid
Provides technical assistance to Sales force as and when required
Supervises project design engineering
Supervises installation labour and subcontractors
Prepares project schedules subcontracts change proposals and project invoices; assists with collections on projects
Effectively communicates project requirements to Project team and wider organisation as and when required and maintains accurate and uptodate records of job status job changes material flow and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports
Acts as our customer s best service provider at all times thereby ensuring the company is the customer s first choice for service
Identifies and escalates potential project risks and develops / implements strategies to minimise impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines
Proactively communicates project schedules project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis with customers and seeks to continuously improve customer satisfaction
Coordinates the procurement of materials supplies services and controls necessary for timely and costeffective completion of projects within budget
Manages on site Contractors / Installers
Establishes project milestones and analyses costs
Exposure to financial systems to review actual versus estimated job costs
Provides timely and accurate project cost reports
Identifies reasons for low job site productivity and determines the impact of this on the projects
Adjusts or corrects project plans and / or project cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals
Manages the and review of all scope of work terms and conditions in customer contracts including cost control delivery fulfilment and quality of service and other customer requirements as they arise
May perform a limited range of managerial responsibilities including but not limited to:
Mentoring coaching and developing colleagues
Planning assigning and directing work
Performance management
Project budgeting
Overseeing subcontractor selection process and work
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Skills Required
Basic project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems fire alarm systems and / or electronic security systems)
Developing coaching mentoring and staff development skills
Solid leadership orientation actively seeking ways in which to act as a role model and guide develop and mentor others within the organisation
Developing team leadership team building and facilitation skills
Showing initiative engaging in proactive behaviour and looks for opportunities
Adaptable responding effectively to changes in situations or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical skills to resolve problems and look for solutions; solid conflict resolution skills
Developing financial analytical skills including cost control
Basic ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members
Basic Microsoft Outlook Project Excel Word and PowerPoint skills
Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles

SMSTS
Experience Requirements
Minimum of two years of previous relevant engineering field service or supervision experience preferred
Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: Electronic Fire Alarm & Life Safety and / or Building Automation
Previous project supervisory experience preferred
Certifications & Licenses
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification preferred
Industryspecific certifications and / or licenses required
Must have valid driver s license with a clean driving record
Protective Clothing Required
The position may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use such as safety glasses steeltoed shoes or work boots etc.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the colleague is frequently required to sit stand walk talk or hear; uses hands to finger handle or touch objects or controls. On occasion the colleague may be required to climb and work in high places stoop bend or reach above the shoulders. Position may also require work in confined spaces and exposure to different types of outdoor weather conditions. Risk of electrical shock and / or general hazards found in a construction environment are present.
The colleague must occasionally lift push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift push or pull up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision colour vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The position is an officebased position with regular visits to work sites in the field. The colleague performs some workrelated travel.
