Job Description
1. Responsible for delivering safe patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment planning implementation and evaluation.
2. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
3. Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
4. Maintains standards of care in the Birthplace.
5. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment.
6. Ensures a safe environment for patients and visitors.
7. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient wellbeing.
8. Ensures appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.
