As a Business Continuity Consultant you will be responsible for ensuring that organizations are prepared to handle unexpected disruptions and can continue their operations with minimal impact. This involves developing and implementing comprehensive business continuity plans conducting risk assessments and identifying critical business functions that must be maintained during a crisis. You will collaborate with various departments to design strategies for disaster recovery including data backup solutions and alternative work sites.
In addition to plan development you will also conduct regular training sessions and simulations to educate employees on their roles and responsibilities during an emergency. Keeping abreast of industry best practices and emerging threats is crucial allowing you to update and improve continuity plans as needed. Your role may also involve auditing existing plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Ultimately your goal is to foster a culture of resilience within the organization ensuring that it can withstand and quickly recover from any disruptions whether they are natural disasters cyberattacks or other unforeseen events. By doing so you help safeguard the organizations assets reputation and longterm viability.
Requirements:
5 years operational experience in business continuity planning recover and disaster recovery.
Minimum qualification Bachelors degree (NQF 7) /Diploma (NQF 6) in Information Technology/Computer Science or ITrelated field
Relevant BCI Certifications.
