Comaea Consulting is an international Executive Search and Talent Advisory firm. We are currently hiring a Category Management Specialist for a multinational client in the shipping industry with a strong global presence.
Category Management Specialist
ORGANISATION : Reporting to the Category Lead you will contribute to various category projects drive procurement initiatives and manage supplier relationships. You will play a key role in supporting the Category Lead in achieving category objectives. You will also serve as a point of contact for supplierrelated matters and may occasionally supervise junior team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Category Strategy: Collaborate with the Category Lead to develop and implement category strategies including subcategories such as Engines TCs BWTS Scrubbers etc.
- Data Analysis & Forecasting: Analyze spend data from purchasing systems and assist in maintaining vessel equipment data to support accurate forecasting.
- Performance Optimization: Interpret spend and supply data to measure performance optimize procurement processes and drive continuous improvement on a global scale.
- Supplier Management: Lead negotiations with key suppliers define vendor selection criteria and execute sourcing and negotiation projects with a significant impact on the business.
- Market Analysis: Perform supplier market analysis organize market intelligence and develop bidding negotiation and pricing strategies to ensure the best value within the company s budgets and policies.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to procurement policies and guidelines contributing to maintaining high ethical standards.
- Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams to drive cost reduction improve quality and enhance delivery performance.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Maritime Supply Chain Management or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years in procurement including negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong understanding of category management processes and disciplines.
- Exposure to the marine maritime or heavy industry is highly preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on costeffective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into procurement processes and drive related efficiencies.
