As a Principal Systems Engineer you will:
Spearhead or assist requirements development and management.
Develop and direct subsystem and component performance specifications by evaluating and deriving necessary requirements.
Develop and maintain requirements verification and compliance and supporting artifacts.
Support requirements decomposition analysis to help drive concept architectures and system characteristics.
Direct and facilitate architecture development of assigned system subsystems and components.
Drive development and maintenance of interface requirements and interface design information for assigned subsystem system and components.
Document concept design selections and generate System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments.
Coordinate and facilitate formal decisions and trade studies to drive design and document results.
Support the actualization and monitoring of cost schedule and risk.
Coordinate Systems Engineering activities to influence the design.
Support vehicle level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in engineering and 4 years relevant experience.
Systems engineering experience performing requirements evaluation derivation and allocation and translating requirements to viable concepts design solutions within applicable constraints.
Experience developing architecture concepts and evaluating alternatives.
Knowledge of how to balance system design considering system concept of operations (CONOPS) performance constraints and logistics concerns.
Knowledge of how to plan conduct and document complex trade studies.
Knowledge of how to generate System / Subsystem Design Descriptions and capability assessments per the program statement of work.
Excellent oral and written communication knowhow.
Preferred Skills:
Logical architecture experience including development of use cases.
Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) including SysML methodology and tools like Cameo.
Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
Have and maintain INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
Guidance and mentoring of younger engineers.
Experience Required:
Support requirements development and management.
Education:
Bachelors degree in engineering and 4 years relevant experience.
