Your mission
GotPhoto is looking for an enthusiastic Tech Accountant to join our Accounting & Taxes Team in Berlin to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting data and facilitate a seamless integration between our accounting function product and technology.
As we grow and expand you support the development and maintenance of the organizations internal accounting backend module and related products.
This is a hybrid position: you must be located in or around Berlin and be able to commute to our office 12 times/week.
Contract start: 01.01.2025
Tasks
Accounting and Financial Management:
- You support GotPhotos Back Office manage international payments ensure payment integration and maintain Group Accounting knowledge.
- You write SQL queries for reconciliations handle invoices resolve issues and assist with Month and Year End Closings.
Technical Responsibilities:
- You conduct QA and code reviews for the accounting backend ensuring compliance and advising on financial data accuracy.
- You guide on tax compliance and make adjustments for legal or internal optimization needs.
Collaboration and Support:
- You work on crossfunctional projects involving tech payment and accounting resolving issues or escalating them as needed.
- You onboard and mentor new employees sharing seniorlevel finance knowledge and supporting their understanding of GotPhotos finance processes.
Requirements
- You have 35 years of work experience in accounting with a solid understanding of German and US accounting principles and practices.
- You are proficient in accounting software (Datev Quickbooks Online) and knowledgeable in taxes (VAT income payroll) reconciliations and tax returns.
- You have experience with SQL
- You have strong problemsolving skills with proactive issue resolution and excellent communication with crossfunctional teams.
- You are fluent in English and in German (B2 level)
- Nicetohave: You have experience in writing code and code review (ideally in PHP)
