Job Description
Job Summary:
The IT Security Specialist will be responsible for protecting the organizations IT systems and data from security threats. This role involves implementing security measures monitoring for potential breaches and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement security policies protocols and procedures.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential threats.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Respond to security incidents and provide thorough postevent analyses.
- Manage and maintain security tools and technologies such as firewalls intrusion detection systems and antivirus software.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on security best practices.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends and threats.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance overall security posture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Security Computer Science or a related field/equivalent experience.
- Proven 2 years of experience as an IT Security Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies (SIEM IDS/IPS firewalls).
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP CISM CEH) are highly desirable.
