The Head of Payments will be responsible for overseeing the payment operations across the company platform ensuring that all financial transactions are processed efficiently profitably securely and in compliance with local and international regulations. This role requires strategic thinking operational expertise and strong leadership to manage the payments team drive performance improvements and ensure a seamless customer payment experience.
Tasks
- Sourcing new payment options and partnerships strengthening the platforms payment offering for current and future markets.
- Managing commercial relationships with active thirdparty payment providers by negotiating and renegotiating contracts in order to maintain and improve costeffectiveness.
- Evaluating payment methods for new markets and managing the integration process directly onto the platform as well as through aggregators.
- Responsible for all payment method performances and maintaining high process success rates through correct internal processes and in collaboration with 3rd parties.
- Constant monitoring of payment processors performances and ensuring realtime alert systems are in place to identify problems and failures ensuring no payment downtime.
- Daily weekly and monthly reporting on all payment KPIs across the platform including indepth analysis of market performance and changes/trends.
- Owned KPIs: Payment acceptance rates payment costs payment cost to NGR.
- Coowned KPIs: FTD conversion rate.
- Follow up on analysis to make sure all of the business is aware of changes and solutions necessary to improve performance. Working closely with front and backend development teams to implement platform changes.
- Daily testing of payment methods.
- Work collaboratively with finance and compliance departments for any paymentrelated matters.
- Oversee and ensure timely reconciliation of payment transactions verifying the accuracy of all payments and ensuring they match system records and bank statements.
- Manage the settlement cycle of payments with various payment providers ensuring funds are received and processed in accordance with agreed timelines.
- Lead mentor and manage a team ensuring they meet the performance targets and objectives set by the business whilst fostering a positive team culture.
Requirements
- At least five years of previous experience in payment solutions operations with experience across local and international markets.
- Indepth knowledge of current regulations laws and common practises in payments.
- Strong negotiation skills to ensure costefficient payments and processes.
- Proven track record of growing new and existing business markets.
- Proven track record of managing growing and developing teams whilst reaching the department and business objectives.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skill in English both written and spoken.
