We are looking for a Plumber II to work in Fort Meade MD supporting our client.

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to perform the full range of master plumbing duties such as installing repairing and modifying water supply sewage disposal gas distribution oil lines fire suppression and similar utility systems and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Installs modifies repairs and maintains a variety of new and existing utility supply and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage water oil & gas distribution systems water closets backflow prevention devices/assemblies fire sprinkler systems and showers.

2. Plans and accomplishes work from initial layout to final assembly which involves interpreting and applying building plans specifications blueprints sketches and other plumbing guides/codes and using shop mathematics.

3. Performs preventive maintenance services and troubleshoots/tests various plumbing systems and equipment including backflow prevention devices such as reduced pressure principle devices doublecheck devices atmospheric vacuum breakers and other crossconnection devices.

4. Uses and maintains tools such as tapes rules plumb bobs hand and power pipe threaders cutters pipe wrenches angle drills hacksaws and power saws power sewer cleaning equipment various gas detectors and meters and lead pots.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

The plumber makes repairs and installations from ladders scaffolding and platforms where the parts of systems worked on are in hardtoreach places. The plumber must frequently stand stoop bend kneel climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The plumber often lifts carries and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds unassisted and over 40 pounds with assistance. They may be required to wear safety equipment such as safety shoes glasses gloves hard hats and other personal protective equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Must hold a Master Plumber license.

2. Five to seven years of experience in the installation or contracting in a related field.

3. Must be able to pass and maintain a government security background clearance.

4. Must have a working knowledge of MAXIMO or other CMMS software.
