Job Description
Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant is responsible for carrying out tasks impacting the general ledger. The Senior Accountant is required to process journal entries and post transaction activity including inter company transactions as well as reconcile the general ledger accounts. Staff accountants will support the senior accountant in developing the balance sheet profit and loss statements and other financial reports. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting policies and procedures to assist in maintaining financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Maintains fixed asset records using Sage software.
- Completes inventory and cost adjustments in ERP system.
- Processes Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support monthend and yearend close process by:
- Ensures tasks are completed on time & all deadlines for monthend reporting are met
- Processes recurring & standard journal entries
- Prepares & record accrual journal entries.
- Records & Reconcile Intercompany transactions
- Takes ownership in GL accounts assigned to you and be able to explain variances
- Prepares of a monthly reporting workbook fixed assets and Intercompany balance.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP principles.
- Assists with internal and external audit samples.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience and/or education.
- 5 years experience working in a fastpace highgrowth company.
- Manufacturing environment experience using an ERP software preferred.
Bachelor s degree in Business or Engineering 3+ years automotive industry experience, or at least 10 years directly related technical experience in the automotive industry Technical skills and project management skills required Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required Customer relations experience helpful Ability to operate a vehicle and valid driver s licenses required Ability and willingness to travel out- of- town Work performed in an office environment with minimum exposure to unpleasant working conditions
