13 weeks Days 8hour shift 40 hours guaranteed weekly

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform radiographic exams including Computed Tomography (CT) Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) and work independently in performing these modalities. Collaborate with radiologists providers and other technologists to improve patient care.
• Provides oncall services on a rotational basis. Apply previous computer experience to new applications for imaging and record keeping.
• May be required to travel to provide services at clinics throughout the Consortium.
• Understand that inadequate communication with the patient provider and radiologist can adversely affect patient health. Creatively works with other staff to solve problems.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• CT: Performs diagnostic CT exams of human anatomy. Places IVs for contrast injections. Follows protocols set by the radiologist. Performs daily QA/QC on CT equipment. Receives patients explains procedures and creates a safe environment for the patient through good communication skills. Accurately inputs pertinent medical information into EHR RIS/PACS and other systems as necessary. Is very familiar with power injectors and appropriate use. Understands various types of contrast media and their use.
• Radiography: Performs diagnostic xray examinations of human anatomy. Follows standard position protocols and views prescribed by other radiologists. Receives patients explains procedures and utilizes standardized techniques settings and positions to accomplish acceptable results.
• Mammography: Works closely with the Radiologists and Lead Mammographer to produce quality mammograms. Performs routine views as required and special views as requested. Recognizes pathology. Assists Radiologists with breast needle localizations. Maintains accurate records of quality control tests to keep in compliance with ACR/FDA standards. Coordinates patient care with other departments. Performs all Mammography QA/QC (MQSA).
• Office Duties: Performs office jobs including but not limited to answering phones scheduling patients exams printing reports retrieving charts researching problems ordering supplies and helping radiologists and providers.
• Responsible for QA and QC for imaging modalities. Documents: amount of contrast administered exam performed and other information as required by the Joint Commission standards.
• Provides oncall services for afterhours weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

• Must have at least 1 year of radiology technologist experience
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in CT in a hospital setting
• Must have at least 1 year of digital mammography experience

Education:

• Must have graduated from an accredited Radiography School

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

• Radiology Technologist registered in Radiography Computed Tomography and Mammography is required
• Must be ARRT certified (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Must have Radiography (R)
• Must have Computed Tomography (CT)
• Must have Mammography (M)

EMR System: Cerner experience preferred

Shift: Primary Days Some shared call/discussed at interview

COVID Requirements: Must have proof of FLU and COVID19 vaccinations(including boosters). No exemptions.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology used in standard radiographic CT and Mammography exams
• Extensive knowledge of radiation physics and protection (ALARA)
• Extensive understanding and knowledge of CT (computed tomography) and Mammography modalities
• Considerable knowledge of computed and digital imaging and multiple computer systems including the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and teleradiology
• Skilled at independently performing radiographic CT and Mammography exams
• Skilled in oral and written communications
• Skilled in organizing and cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment in serviceable condition
• Skilled at utilizing the PACS for teleradiology
• Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with supervisors radiologists providers patients computer technologists and SEARHC staff
• Able to perform multiple tasks in a small department
• Able to learn new imaging exams as required by radiologists or providers
• Able to learn new equipment and systems for imaging and hospital procedures
