Job Description
Overview
The Data Governance role is crucial in ensuring that the organizations data assets are properly managed protected and utilized to their full potential. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance policies standards and processes across the organization to ensure data integrity security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of data governance tools such as Collibra Alation and Ataccama.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality and security.
- Define and maintain the organizations data taxonomy and metadata management framework.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure alignment with data governance requirements.
- Establish data lifecycle management processes and guidelines.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance regulations and standards.
- Manage data stewardship programs and provide guidance to data stewards across the organization.
- Conduct data quality assessments and implement initiatives to improve data quality.
- Develop and deliver data governance training and awareness programs.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand and address their data governance needs and requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing data governance solutions such as Collibra Alation or Ataccama.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience in metadata management and data classification.
- Knowledge of data quality assessment and improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR CCPA or industryspecific regulations.
- Ability to develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Relevant certifications in data governance or related fields (e.g. CDMP DGSP CIMP) would be a plus.
