Summary: Our client is an innovative B2B startup specializing in pain management and orthopedic products such as knee braces orthopedic insoles and other mobility aids. Our mission is to deliver highquality costeffective solutions to healthcare providers and distributors helping improve patient mobility and quality of life.
We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Product Development Manager to lead efforts in researching the market identifying product gaps and developing or redesigning products to address unmet needs in the orthopedic space. This is a businessfocused role not researchoriented. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in orthopedic product development market research and supplier management. (S)He will be responsible for researching market trends finding costeffective manufacturing solutions (from lowcost destinations like China and Vietnam) and ensuring medical efficacy before launching products into the offline market.
Qualifications & Skills:
(a) Educational Background:
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Product Management Healthcare Management or a related field. A Master s degree is a plus.
(b) Experience:
- 812 years of experience in product development or management ideally in the healthcare medical device or orthopedic industry.
- Proven track record in conducting market research and identifying product gaps within the medical or healthcare markets.
- Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers especially in lowcost destinations such as China Vietnam or similar regions.
- Previous experience launching products into B2B markets specifically in healthcare or orthopedic fields.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the orthopedic and medical device industries.
(c) Technical & Business Skills:
- Market Research: Expertise in conducting market assessments identifying product needs and analyzing competitor landscapes.
- Supplier Management: Strong experience in sourcing suppliers and manufacturers preferably from lowcost regions and managing vendor relationships.
- Product Development: Ability to oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation and design to manufacturing and market launch.
- Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with orthopedic products pain management solutions and the ability to work with medical professionals to verify product efficacy.
- GTM (GoToMarket): Strong experience in developing and executing GTM strategies for launching products in offline B2B markets.
(d) Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills especially when working with suppliers medical professionals and internal teams.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines budgets and crossfunctional teams.
- Ability to make datadriven decisions and work in a fastpaced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
(a) Market Research & Product Identification:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify gaps in the orthopedic and pain management product categories.
- Analyze market trends customer needs and competitor offerings to propose new or redesigned products.
- Work closely with the business development team to assess demand for potential products in the B2B healthcare sector.
(b) Supplier Sourcing & Management:
- Identify and source manufacturers and suppliers from lowcost regions such as China Vietnam or other costeffective destinations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers negotiating terms pricing and quality standards.
- Conduct factory visits (if needed) to ensure compliance with quality standards and production capabilities.
(c) Product Development:
- Oversee the product development process collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment with market needs.
- Work closely with the medical team to verify the efficacy of new products and ensure they meet regulatory and medical standards.
- Ensure the successful design prototyping and testing of new products before they are taken to market.
(d) GoToMarket (GTM) Strategy:
- Develop and execute the GTM strategy for launching new orthopedic products in the offline market including pricing distribution and promotion strategies.
- Work with sales teams to introduce products to distributors healthcare providers and other key B2B partners.
- Monitor product performance postlaunch gathering feedback and making improvements where necessary.
(e) CrossFunctional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with marketing sales and medical teams to align on product positioning and market strategy.
- Liaise with the medical team to ensure that all products meet medical efficacy and compliance standards.
- Work with the finance team to manage budgets for product development sourcing and GTM activities.
(f) Continuous Improvement:
- Stay uptodate with the latest trends in orthopedic and pain management products as well as advancements in lowcost manufacturing technologies.
- Continuously improve the product development process by adopting best practices in sourcing development and market research.
