Purpose of the Role:
We are looking for a meticulous and detailoriented Legal Associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting reviewing and negotiating a variety of legal documents including customer and vendor agreements. Knowledge of space law and statutory compliance is a strong advantage. This role will also involve handling due diligence ensuring legal compliance and assisting with secretarial activities.
Responsibilities:
1) Drafting and Vetting of Agreements:
- Draft and review customer agreements (experience in the space sector is highly advantageous).
- Draft and vet vendor agreements including those related to procurement logistics and services.
2) NonDisclosure Agreements (NDAs):
- Draft review and negotiate NDAs with external stakeholders.
3) Space Law Expertise:
- Understand and interpret space laws working closely with space authorities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
4) Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with various statutory requirements including but not limited to:
- Factories Act
- Environmental Acts
- Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO)
- Labour Laws
- Oversee timely filing of statutory returns.
5) Due Diligence:
- Conduct and manage legal due diligence for various business transactions.
6) Secretarial Support:
- Assist with company secretarial duties and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent). A Master s degree in Law (LLM) would be an added advantage.
2. Experience:
- 3 years of experience in legal drafting and compliance. Experience in the space sector is a plus.
3. Skills:
- Strong understanding of contract law and statutory compliance.
- Excellent drafting negotiation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with space law environmental regulations and labour laws is desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
