About the Position:
As a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Specialist at Central Moloney Inc. you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the programming troubleshooting and optimization of PLC systems to enhance productivity quality and safety within our facilities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise problemsolving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming: Develop and modify PLC programs to meet the specific requirements of our manufacturing processes including logic control data acquisition and communication protocols.
- System Integration: Integrate PLC systems with other manufacturing equipment such as sensors actuators and humanmachine interfaces (HMIs) to create seamless automation solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve PLCrelated issues to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance tasks on PLC hardware and software including firmware updates backup procedures and component replacements. Evaluate and recommend upgrades to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation of PLC programs configurations and troubleshooting procedures. Provide training and support to operators and maintenance personnel to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of PLC systems.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that PLC systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations. Implement safety protocols and failsafe mechanisms to protect personnel and equipment from hazards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in PLCs such as ladder logic structured text and function block diagrams.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits industrial control systems and automation technologies.
- Familiarity with PLC hardware platforms from leading manufacturers (e.g. AllenBradley Siemens Schneider Electric).
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety quality and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in PLC programming software and hardware platforms such as AllenBradley Siemens or Schneider Electric.
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems including sensors actuators and HMI (HumanMachine Interface) devices.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics control diagrams and industrial communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet/IP Modbus).
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting tools and techniques including PLC diagnostics and online monitoring.
- Excellent problemsolving abilities and attention to detail in identifying and resolving issues in PLC programs.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise extreme temperatures and environmental stressors.
- Physical Activities: Sit stand walk bend climb crouch reach and grasp as needed.
- PPE: Wear required PPE including eye and hearing protection gloves and safety toe footwear.
- Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close distance color peripheral depth perception and focus adjustment).
