Job Description

Overview

The Snowflake Data Engineer plays a crucial role in the organizations data infrastructure and analytics. They are responsible for designing implementing and maintaining scalable data solutions using Snowflake ensuring optimal performance and reliability for data pipelines and analytics. This role is essential in supporting datadriven decisionmaking processes and enabling the organization to leverage its data assets effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing data models and schema objects in Snowflake
  • Developing ETL processes to load data into Snowflake from various sources
  • Optimizing and tuning Snowflake databases and queries for performance
  • Collaborating with data analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements
  • Building and maintaining data pipelines and workflows using Snowflake
  • Implementing data security and access controls within Snowflake
  • Monitoring and managing the health and performance of Snowflake data warehouse
  • Automating data management tasks and processes within Snowflake
  • Providing technical expertise and support for Snowflakerelated projects and initiatives
  • Documenting data engineering processes procedures and best practices
  • Leading and participating in code reviews and quality assurance activities
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements and optimization
  • Collaborating with crossfunctional teams to integrate Snowflake with other systems and tools
  • Staying updated with the latest Snowflake features enhancements and best practices
  • Participating in the evaluation and selection of new data tools and technologies

Required qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in designing building and optimizing data solutions using Snowflake
  • Indepth knowledge of SQL and experience in writing complex queries and stored procedures
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and schema design principles
  • Handson experience with ETL tools and processes including ingestion transformation and loading of data
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Java or Scala
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services especially AWS Azure or GCP
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills related to data engineering and Snowflake
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment handling multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team setting
  • Certifications in Snowflake and related technologies are a plus
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies is preferred
  • Understanding of data governance compliance and security standards
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques is advantageous
