Job Description
Overview
The Tableau Developer plays a crucial role in leveraging data to provide insights and drive informed business decisions. They are responsible for designing developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards reports and visualizations to facilitate datadriven decisionmaking and enhance business operations.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into Tableau visualizations.
- Develop interactive and userfriendly Tableau dashboards and reports to display insights.
- Utilize SQL and other data manipulation tools to extract and prepare data for visualization.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends patterns and insights within the data.
- Work on data blending and data modeling to create meaningful visualizations.
- Implement best practices for data visualization and dashboard design to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Conduct performance tuning to optimize the Tableau dashboards for efficient usage.
- Provide technical support and training to end users on Tableau usage and features.
- Collaborate with the data team to ensure data integrity and consistency in Tableau visualizations.
- Stay updated with the latest Tableau features and enhancements to incorporate them into the existing solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation for Tableau solutions and processes.
- Participate in quality assurance and testing of Tableau dashboards and reports.
- Communicate effectively with crossfunctional teams to gather requirements and feedback.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data visualization practices and standards within the organization.
Required qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Tableau Developer or in a similar role with expertise in data visualization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Tableau Desktop Tableau Server and related tools.
- Strong understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience in creating interactive and visually appealing Tableau dashboards and reports.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Ability to interpret and translate complex data into insightful visualizations.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data interpretation and storytelling through visualization.
- Good understanding of best practices in data visualization and dashboard design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimizing Tableau dashboards for enhanced efficiency.
- Familiarity with other BI tools and technologies is a plus.
- Certification in Tableau is highly desirable.
