Overview
As a Staff Revenue Accountant you will play a crucial role in the organizations finance department by ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions. Your responsibilities will include analyzing financial data reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health and integrity of the company.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in the monthend and yearend close processes including revenue recognition and reconciliations.
- Analyze and interpret financial data to ensure accurate recording of revenue transactions.
- Prepare and review revenuerelated journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant information and support revenue recognition processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of revenue accounting policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular reviews of revenue contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide support for external audits and ensure all documentation and records are accurate and accessible.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis related to revenue and profitability.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the revenue accounting function.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards specifically related to revenue recognition and ensure compliance within the organization.
Required qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- CPA certification or actively working towards it is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in revenue accounting or related financial roles.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and its application to revenue recognition.
- Experience with accounting software and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with crossfunctional departments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their application to revenue accounting processes.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and its implications for revenue accounting.
