Our client is seeking a Director of IT. This is a hybrid a position and you must be able to work in Manhattan (Wall Street Area). The individual in this role will be responsible for leading and overseeing IT personnel and manage daily operations to ensure the smooth functioning of all technology systems within the IT department of a prestigious nonprofit advisory association located in Manhattan.

The duties include interviewing and hiring qualified candidates relaying information between upper management and department employees and managing the department budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of IT is responsible for several different tasks related to overseeing the companys computer networks and improving the companys network systems. Some of the daily responsibilities include:

• Developing new network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and decrease maintenance costs.
• Manage and maintain the organizations IT infrastructure including servers network systems and security systems.
• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and data.
• Provide technical support and assistance to employees troubleshooting issues and resolving problems in a timely manner.
• Oversee the procurement and installation of new hardware and software systems ensuring compatibility and functionality.
• Plan coordinate and execute IT projects ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure systems are backed up and recoverable.
• Stay current with the latest technology trends in the Financial Services (Insurance) industry.
• Work with team to ensure data security privacy and compliance with industry regulations and standards are met or exceeded.
• Ability to manage several ongoing projects to ensure they are delivered on time & on budget.
• Staying up to date with new network technology and reporting this information to the executive team in a timely manner.
• Working closely with other Managers to achieve corporate goals and KPIs.
• Work closely with companys Cybersecurity Partners/Vendors to keep company secure & compliant.
• Manages companys Helpdesk interactions with external brokers.

Education and Training requirements

• Minimum educational requirements: a Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or a related field is required. Candidates may also have a masters degree in business administration network security or computer science along with a strong understanding of software development IT management wireless systems and server applications.
• 1020 years of experience in IT Management within the Financial Services industry preferably with some Insurance knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of networking and server technologies including Windows Server and Cisco networking.
• Experience working in a Windows environment across (Private/Public/Hybrid) Cloud Solutions Active Directory Services (AD) & Citrix.
• MUST have previous experience working in VDI environments and platforms.
• Project management experience with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

• Demonstrated experience managing a team of technologists to deliver technology services and functions.
• Demonstrated competency in developing staff and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated competency in project management Support WFH environment & Remote Monitoring & Management Solutions.
• Ability to concurrently manage multiple activities and tasks and take ultimate accountability.
• Facilitation and change management skills.
• Highly developed verbal and written communications.
• Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of full Microsoft Suite expected.
• Develops and maintains relationships through effective timely communication and meets deadlines.
