We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual (AV) and Acoustics Engineer with a National Diploma or relevant technical certification in the field. The ideal candidate will also hold a Relevant Audio Visual Certified Systems Engineer certification with specialized experience in Delegate Conference Systems. The role requires at least 4 years of experience in managing AV implementations for chambers auditoriums and other largescale environments. The position is ideal for a professional who has handson experience in AV systems acoustics and is capable of leading complex AV projects from concept to completion.
Duties and responsibilities
- AV System Design & Implementation: Design implement and manage comprehensive AV systems including delegate conference systems for chambers auditoriums and other facilities.
- Acoustic Solutions: Apply technical expertise to design and implement acoustic treatments to ensure sound clarity and quality across large venues.
- AV Systems Engineering: Configure troubleshoot and maintain AV systems including audio mixers microphones speakers video conferencing equipment and integrated control systems.
- Project Management: Manage all aspects of AV projects from requirement gathering system design and installation to testing and commissioning.
- Client Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders to define project requirements and provide technical advice on AV solutions.
- System Maintenance & Upgrades: Conduct routine maintenance updates and upgrades of AV and acoustic systems ensuring optimal performance.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Work with external vendors and suppliers for equipment procurement installation services and technical support.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed system documentation including AV schematics system diagrams and user guides. Provide regular project and system performance reports.
Requirements
Qualifications
- National Diploma in a relevant technical field (e.g. Electronics Information Technology AV Systems).
- Relevant Technical Certification in Audio Visual Systems.
- Certified Systems Engineer in Delegate Conference Systems.
- Audio Visual & Acoustics Certification (preferred).
Experience
4 years of experience working with audiovisual systems and acoustics in large venues including chambers and auditoriums.
Proven experience in managing AV projects from design through to implementation and handover.
Expertise in delegate conference systems including setup and configuration.
Knowledge of audio mixers microphones speakers video conferencing equipment and control systems (e.g. Crestron AMX).
Strong understanding of acoustics principles and experience in designing acoustical solutions for large spaces.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with AV system design software (e.g. AutoCAD EASE).
Familiarity with AV control systems and automation.
Experience in setting up video conferencing solutions (Zoom Microsoft Teams WebEx).
Strong troubleshooting skills for AV hardware and software issues.
Knowledge of acoustic treatments and soundproofing techniques.
