JOB SPECIFICATION

Reports to: Technology & Innovation Director

Direct Reports: 3

Contract: Permanent

Based: Glasgow HQ with occasional travel to regional offices (St Alban s and Altrincham)

Salary: Up to 53000

Flexible working: Hybrid Working

We are looking for a Technology Business Partner to support the ambitious growth plans of the business. The Technology Department is at the very start of an extremely exciting journey which makes this role a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ambitious and really wants to make an impact and demonstrate their skills in this field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Technology Business Partner you will be accountable for supporting the Technology strategy of the Group. As such we see the key responsibilities of the role as being:

  • Linking between the Business and Technology functions daytoday
  • Understanding the strategic needs of Group Companies and Departments and ensuring that the Technology Service Offering meets those needs
  • Ensuring that operational services are maintained with Vendors and Partners
  • Gathering highlevel business requirements for Projects and Change and defining Scopes of Work
  • Leading the delivery of Technology Projects
  • Leading the management of risks dependencies and issues associated with Project Delivery
  • Monitoring service KPIs and SLAs and ensuring that issues are investigated and resolved
  • Ensuring Change is managed in a systematic and riskbased way
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships across the Group at all levels and maintaining a full understanding of business needs
  • Working to develop a team of Prime Change Champions as supporters and stewards of Data and Technology within the Group
  • Owning the Technology Continuous Improvement Plan and consistently seeking ways to do things better
  • Developing and managing defined communication channel(s) and/or stakeholder groups proactively seeking to identify potential demand
  • Consulting with the Business Systems Manager where current technology solutions dont meet business needs and making recommendations for new solutions
  • Driving innovation by keeping up to date on emerging methods and technologies and recommending how these can be practically implemented to improve business performance.
  • Line Management of the Business Transformation Function
  • Deputising for the Group Technology Director where required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive experience with and understanding of current technology and the demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technology and systems including upgrades and changes.
  • Experience in managing processes and systems to ensure the effective delivery of technology / business alignment
  • Knowledge of technology Architecture practices and principles
  • Skilled in facilitating outcomes and contributing to challenging projects within a complex organisational context
  • Significant experience and/or interest in developing frameworks processes standards guidelines blueprints and best practices
  • Critical thinking in the utilisation of data
  • Knowledge of and experience in gathering understanding and documenting requirements
  • Experience with problemsolving in relation to business (organisational) issues or opportunities.
  • Experience considering / capturing and explaining Risk
  • Operational and strategic decisionmaking experience
  • Proven ability to find and use data to support decision making
  • Ability to engage with and communicate with business stakeholders on technical undertakings.
  • Ability to articulate highly technical concepts in tailored business terms to broker organisational outcomes with business unit stakeholders.
  • Significant experience in creating; technical reports options papers documentation
  • Ability to present to business units technical teams and subject matter experts of various disciplines.
  • Ability to contribute within technical meetings / workshops during solution design or troubleshooting periods.
  • Experience working with highly technical teams or diverse skillsets.
  • Proven ability to negotiate outcomes and decisions with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to document and present technology options to business stakeholders
  • Prince 2/Agile qualified or experience of working to a suitable alternative project management methodology
