Job Description

Job Summary: Permits and Compliance Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that all operations adhere to environmental and safety regulations especially in managing water resources treatment facilities and distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with the general waterrelated regulations
    • Maintain updated knowledge of environmental laws wastewater discharge standards and drinking water quality requirements.
    • Monitor water quality data and ensure that it meets legal and health standards.
    • Ensure facilities comply with permits
  2. Permit Acquisition:
    • Secure necessary water rights discharge permits and other regulatory approvals for water treatment plants and distribution systems.
    • Work with environmental agencies to ensure the renewal and modification of permits.
  3. Water Treatment and Operations Oversight:
    • Oversee the operational compliance of water treatment facilities ensuring that discharge and treatment processes do not exceed permitted levels of pollutants.
    • Develop and implement programs to reduce water waste promote sustainable practices and protect water resources.
  4. Risk and Crisis Management:
    • Prepare for potential water contamination events and ensure that response plans are in place.
    • Implement measures to prevent spills or leaks that could affect water quality and lead to regulatory fines.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Liaise with environmental regulators community stakeholders and internal departments to maintain transparent communication about water use conservation efforts and compliance measures.
    • Facilitate public engagement in compliance matters including updates on water quality or system improvements.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed records of water usage discharge data and compliance audits.
    • Report regularly to environmental agencies ensuring the organization meets all regulatory reporting requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 5years and up related work experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering / Civil Engineering /Chemical Engineering or any related course
  • Expertise in environmental regulations related to water quality and management.
  • Experience in water or wastewater treatment operations.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with water permits and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple facilities and ensure companywide compliance.
